HOW TO CREATE THE GLOSS BOSS LOOK WITH EMILY WOOD ON SHALINI – Tropic Skincare

Transporting you effortlessly from the desk to the dance floor, this stunner of a look combines a dewy base with a subtle contour and shimmering eyes. We worked with makeup artist, Emily Wood, to bring you this editorial diva makeup guide. We’ve recreated many of these looks on different models, in order to show you how to create the same effect but for various skin tones, skin types and face shapes. STEP BY STEP

STEP 1 Begin by applying BEAUTY BOOSTER sheer foundation in shade 9 (coming soon) over your face using the ECO ARTIST kabuki brush.  Brighten and lift your under eye area by dotting ILLUMA light-diffusing concealer in chai onto your skin. Gently blend it in using the ECO ARTIST flat detailing brush, taking care not to drag on the delicate skin. To even out skin tone and give extra coverage, use your UNDERCOVER cream concealer in clay with the PURE PRECISION beauty drop sponge. Apply MINERAL FOUNDATION in rich mocha using circular motions with your ECO ARTIST full coverage kabuki brush across the face and neck. STEP 2 With your ECO ARTIST powder brush, apply a small amount of BLUSH CRUSH cream colour in coffee cherry, blending upwards from the apples of your cheeks towards your ears.  Create a contour using your UNDERCOVER cream concealer in clay. Stroke your ECO ARTIST flat detailing brush back and forth across your cheekbones, moving from your ear to the centre of your cheek.  STEP 3 Comb through your brows with the spoolie end of the ECO ARTIST 3in1 Eye Brush. Then, switch to the angled end and apply BROW BOSS defining pomade in tazman pepper, moving in upwards motions until you’ve achieved your desired definition. STEP 4 Create a subtle shimmer across your eyelids with EYES ON YOU pressed shadow in meteor. Using the fluffy end of the ECO ARTIST eye shadow brush, apply your shadow across the entire eyelid and take any excess product a little higher up towards the brow.  For some warmth, use the same end of the brush and apply EYES ON YOU pressed shadow in cinnamon – a more matte shade – on the outer corner of the eye, blending upwards into the crease. Now with the pointed end of the brush, apply EYES ON YOU pressed shadow in meteor across the lower lash line. This will help to add more depth to your eye look. STEP 5 Time to add a pop of light to those rich shades! Apply EYES ON YOU pressed shadow in halo to the inner corner of the eye with the larger end of the ECO ARTIST flat detailing brush. Try to bring the shadow a little further onto the lid and under the eye to bring the colours together. Apply SILK GEL LINER in ebony to the top and bottom lashes to give a naturally feline look. From your LASH EXTENSION KIT in black, use FIXING GEL MASCARA to add flutter factor to your upper and lower lashes and help you make a bold impression. Take the flat end of the ECO ARTIST precision face brush and dust EYES ON YOU pressed shadow in cinnamon onto the apples of your cheeks for a subtle hue. STEP 6 Use EYES ON YOU pressed shadow in halo to create a natural glow, applying it with the pointed end of the ECO ARTIST precision face brush. Tapping any excess product off onto your hand, buff a small amount onto the high points of your cheekbones and the bridge of your nose. STEP 7 Outline your lips with LINE UP lip pencil in dare before using the ECO ARTIST small detailing brush to apply KISS ME QUICK lipstick in nude blush onto the centre of your lips.
