Author Edward Sager has officially released his new book, Truth: A Hard Pill to Swallow, a thought-provoking look at WHY God created the world we live in.
Now available online, the book continues Sager’s passion for writing about spirituality, personal growth, and honest reflection. Through simple and direct writing, he encourages readers to ask difficult questions and think more deeply about what they believe.
At the heart of the book is a message about the loving nature of God. Sager says his writing is not focused on church doctrine or religious systems. Instead, his books explore what God is truly like and what kind of ruler or governor He is.
According to Sager, many people have grown up believing in a God who demands love and obedience while threatening punishment and eternal suffering for those who choose differently. He believes this picture of God does not match the life and teachings of Jesus.
“My books are not about defending a church doctrine,” Sager explains. “They are about showing the God that Jesus came to reveal. I do not believe Jesus came to reveal a God who tortures people with the flames of hell if they do not choose Him. The God Jesus revealed is loving, kind, patient, and forgiving.”
Truth: A Hard Pill to Swallow looks at the difference between truth and perception while encouraging readers to question long-held beliefs, with social division and fear-based ideas about God. Written in a conversational tone, the book invites readers into healthy discussion, rather than argument.
“Truth can be uncomfortable because it challenges what people have always been taught,” Sager said. “I want readers to ask honest questions and think for themselves instead of simply accepting ideas out of fear or tradition.”
The release adds to Sager’s growing collection of spiritually focused works centered on a theology based on the fall of Lucifer, rather than the fall of Adam and Eve. His writing aims to make deeper spiritual ideas easy for everyday readers to understand without the use of complicated spiritual lingo or religious barriers.
Unlike many traditional religious books, Truth: A Hard Pill to Swallow is meant to open conversation instead of telling readers what they must believe. Sager hopes the book will connect with people from different backgrounds, especially those who may have struggled with fear-based teachings about God.
He believes many readers today are searching for honesty, compassion, and authenticity in both one-on-one and public conversation.
“People are tired of division, anger, and shallow answers,” Sager said. “They want something real. They want to know if God is truly good, loving, and trustworthy.”
The book’s release comes at a time when independent authors are reaching wider audiences through online publishing platforms and direct connections with readers. Sager has continued building an audience interested in spiritual reflection, meaningful discussion, and personal growth.
Early response to Truth: A Hard Pill to Swallow reflects a growing interest in books that are about HOW to think, rather than what to think, about the nature of God.
For Sager, the goal of the book is not to force answers onto readers but to encourage deeper understanding through one’s own thinking.
“My hope is that readers walk away with a better understanding of who God truly is,” Sager said. “I believe God is just as loving, kind, and forgiving as Jesus showed Him to be.”
With the release of Truth: A Hard Pill to Swallow, Edward Sager continues to build a voice centered on thoughtful spiritual writing, honest conversation, and a message of hope rooted in the love and compassion of God.
