Over the past decade, Vickie Benz has transformed My Happy Place Massage Studio from a personal vision into a thriving business built around therapist development, education, and client- centered care. Through a unique model that combines practitioner independence with mentorship, marketing support, and continuing education, Benz is creating new opportunities for massage therapists while laying the foundation for future expansion.

Reflecting on the decade- long journey that began from a one- woman practice, My Happy Place Massage Studio has grown into a thriving team- based business and a trusted presence within the community. Today, the studio serves thousands of clients and has earned a reputation for personalized care, therapist development, and professional excellence. The studio is home to six massage therapists, with an additional therapist currently joining the team through the onboarding process.

“Ten years is a milestone, but I feel like we’re just getting started,” Benz says. “My focus now is building something that can continue creating opportunities for both seasoned and new massage therapists.”

“My goal has never been to create a spa where everyone does things the way they’ve always been done,” she says. “I wanted to challenge the traditional model by creating a place where therapists can build meaningful careers. When therapists have the support and guidance to grow, the entire profession benefits.”

Unlike traditional spas, My Happy Place Massage Studio is designed to give therapists greater ownership of their professional development. Practitioners benefit from mentorship, continuing education, marketing support, and a collaborative culture while maintaining the freedom to develop specialties, strengthen their skills, and build lasting client relationships.

“It’s not just another massage studio,” Benz says. “It’s a repeatable model that helps therapists succeed while delivering exceptional experiences for clients.”

Looking ahead, Benz envisions expanding My Happy Place Massage Studio into multiple locations throughout the region while preserving the culture that has defined the business from the beginning.

As a Board Approved Continuing Education Provider, Benz remains committed to strengthening the profession through education, leadership, and service. Her mission is rooted in the values that have guided her from the beginning: faith, perseverance, and a willingness to keep moving forward.

Benz hopes her legacy will be measured not only by the clients she has served, but by the opportunities she has created for other therapists. “If my legacy is anything, I hope it’s helping people realize they’re capable of more than they may believe,” Benz says. “Whether through mentorship, continuing education, skill development, or career opportunities, I want therapists to know they can build something for themselves.”

As My Happy Place Massage Studio enters its second decade, Benz remains focused on creating opportunities for therapists, delivering exceptional client care, and building a business model that can positively impact communities for years to come.
