King Fuels, a Texas-based wholesale fuel distribution enterprise, is commemorating 30 years of service defined by thoughtful expansion, longstanding partnerships, and a commitment to supporting businesses across multiple states. Since its incorporation in 1996, the company has grown from a family venture into a multi-division organization.
The story of King Fuels traces back to the experience of its founders, brothers Zaki, Naeem, and Razi Niazi, who began their careers in 1979 within established energy companies before stepping into entrepreneurship in the mid-1980s. In 1985, Zaki, Chairman and President of King Fuels, leased a small gas station that had previously closed, guided it toward renewed activity, and soon expanded to additional locations. That early momentum laid the groundwork for the formation of King Fuels as a wholesale distributor and development company.
In 1992, the company transitioned from operating individual stations to supporting other retailers through wholesale supply and construction services. A construction division was established in 1993 to manage turnkey projects, allowing the team to oversee site development from planning through opening. When King Fuels was formally incorporated in 1996, it entered a market environment characterized by consolidation and shifting brand dynamics.
Over the following decades, King Fuels expanded its capabilities in response to evolving customer needs. The company integrated additional branded partnerships with recognized names such as Shell, Chevron, Exxon, and Texaco, aligning each brand with the markets where it resonated most strongly. “Through measured acquisitions, we further aimed to broaden our supply network and strengthen our regional presence,” Zaki shares.

As King Fuels grew, the company expanded its model from fuel distribution into a fully integrated support system for building and operating gas stations and convenience stores. Today, it operates four coordinated divisions: wholesale fuel supply, grocery wholesale, retail operations, fast-food service, and real estate, each playing a specific role in the lifecycle of a project.
“The real estate division acquires the land, the wholesale division supplies the fuel, the fast‑food division leases and operates the food service component, and the retail division runs the convenience store. This structure allows every new location to function as four aligned profit centers,” Zaki explains.
The Chairman adds that because these divisions work together, King Fuels can guide partners from the moment they secure a site through opening day and beyond. The company helps commission feasibility studies, introduces financing partners, connects clients with out-of-house architects for drawings and permitting, and oversees construction through its in-house team. After site opening, King Fuels continues to support operations through logistics coordination, inventory systems, and ongoing guidance.
Zaki views this comprehensive approach as central to the company’s philosophy. “Our work extends beyond delivering products,” he explains. “We aim to walk alongside our partners from concept to operation, sharing experience and insight at each stage.” Direct access to leadership remains an important aspect of that commitment. According to Zaki, clients frequently engage with senior executives, allowing decisions to move forward efficiently and with a clear understanding of local market conditions.
King Fuels attributes much of its growth to long-term brand relationships and a focus on regional dynamics. “We believe each metropolitan area presents distinct consumer preferences, and our work is to align brand identity with community expectations,” Zaki states. He adds that in parallel, internal investments in technology and logistics have supported reliable delivery performance and operational coordination across state lines.
In 2024, King Fuels announced an expansion of its distribution network across Texas, Colorado, Kansas, and Florida, reflecting a continued focus on thoughtful growth. Today, the organization continues to serve numerous clients and maintain active relationships with customers across Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and additional regions.
King Fuels envisions extending its full-service model to new markets while maintaining the personalized engagement that has characterized its first 30 years. Zaki Niazi states, “For us, growth is an ongoing journey of learning and partnership. Every new project offers a chance to refine our approach and strengthen the relationships that define who we are.”
