Artist and photographer Linda Greenup announces the forthcoming release of her memoir, Wisdom in Relationshits, a deeply personal reflection on six defining relationships that influenced her emotional growth over a lifetime. Drawing from decades of experience, Greenup explores attachment patterns, overlooked warning signs, and an enduring search for connection that ultimately led her toward self discovery.
Greenup has spent decades expressing emotion and perception through acrylics, watercolors, and photography. This memoir marks her sustained creative work in written form and follows an intensive period of study into memoir writing and publishing. Through focused training, she gained a working knowledge of editorial standards, author agent dynamics, and genre expectations.
“I learned what it truly takes to bring a book into the world, but the most meaningful realization was understanding that my story deserved to be told with honesty and care,” Greenup says. That awareness surfaced through the writing process itself. As she worked through the manuscript, insights from her past became clear. “Across all six relationships, the shared thread was that I gave away my power,” she explains. “Even when I recognized warning signs, I continued believing fulfillment existed outside of myself. Those experiences are now my life lessons and they may resonate with others.”
Each chapter centers on a different partner, offering readers a look into the distinctive lives and settings she encountered through those relationships. One chapter details nearly three years spent living aboard a boat and embracing life on the water. Other relationships unfolded during periods of medical hardship, loss, emotional upheaval, or major life transitions. “After finishing each chapter, I understood the wisdom behind why that relationship ended,” she reflects. “My experiences were challenging and unconventional, yet deeply formative.”
Greenup emphasizes that the memoir is not a simple recounting of heartbreak. Instead, it serves as an exploration of recurring emotional patterns and the development of self awareness. While writing, she revisited transformative moments that revealed long held trauma while also underscoring her ability to heal. “Writing is painful and healing at the same time,” she shares. “You relive the experiences, but you finally see them clearly.”
The memoir also examines the wide range of relationships Greenup has cultivated throughout her life as a small business owner. From entrepreneurship to creative pursuits in painting and photography, the narrative highlights the human connections present in every chapter of her life.
“The book reflects the lessons I gained from those experiences and how those relationships shaped my outlook on life and creativity,” she says.
The final chapter introduces the reflective framework that has informed her recent healing journey. After years of studying astrology and human design, Greenup pursued a deeper study of personality interpretation through birth chart astrology, archetypal themes, and Gene Keys. Inspired by a book on the subject, she applied its teachings to her own life. “It felt like everything clicked. I could connect my experiences to something I had carried since birth,” she says.
Through reflections on love and agency, Greenup believes the memoir will resonate with anyone who has known intimacy, loss, or the desire for connection. “While it may speak more directly to women, the lessons apply to everyone,” she explains.
With the anticipated release of Wisdom in Relationshits, Greenup hopes readers later in life will uncover new layers of self understanding and growth. “Personal growth never stops,” she says. “You can still learn, evolve, and understand yourself more deeply.”
