Noom is devoted to promoting people from within the company. As their coaching staff grows, new possibilities for promotion into a range of leadership roles arise frequently. In fact, all of their leadership team’s 150+ members began their careers as health coaches! At Noom, advancement isn’t the only way to advance. They have a milestone review mechanism in place, and progression can take the shape of a pay raise based on tenure and performance. They are committed to the team’s knowledge and experience growth through the educational opportunities they provide.
Noom aims to give their health coaches the chance to continue their education and growth both inside and outside of their (virtual) walls. As a result, Noom is pleased to provide paid time off for authorized continuing education events. They also provide internal NBHWC (National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching) training sessions on a regular basis to prepare health coaches for the Health and Wellness Coach Certifying Examination. What’s the best part? These courses are provided free of charge to the health coaches.
Despite the fact that Noom’s crew works remotely, they nevertheless spend time together in person. Health Coaches have the opportunity to network with people in their area, and they conduct events in cities around the country throughout the year. Noom even pays all coaches a monthly meet-up allowance so they can work, dine, and socialize together.
Noom is serious about their team’s health and well-being, and they have a lot of fun doing it. As a member of the Noom, you may look forward to yoga, meditation, 5Ks, paint nights, talent showcases, gratitude challenges, and wellness bingo, to name a few.

Hiring Process For Noom Virtual Health Coach
Based on hundreds of Noom job seekers and workers, these are the four basic steps of how Noom hires people.
- The first step is to fill out the online health coach job application, which contains more than 30 long-answer, short-answer, and multiple-choice questions as well as a cover letter. The questionnaire asks about your employment history, personality type, English proficiency and gives you space to describe your “health experience.”
- If your application is approved, you’ll get a timed email asking you behavioral questions and a request for a one-minute video pitch about why you’re a good fit for the job.
- A mock interview with a recruiter in the role of Sam, a middle-aged lady who wants to lose weight, is the third phase. If you don’t use motivational interviewing strategies, this interview will most likely fail.
- It’s a positive sign that you’ve made it this far. This is the last stage. You will receive a video call which is to go over your mock interview and evaluate if you’re a good fit for the company’s culture.
Then there’s the training. According to the listing, space may be restricted. If no new candidate training sessions are scheduled, you will be placed on a waiting list until one becomes available.
Dr. Andreas Michaelides, the company’s Chief Psychologist and creator of the health coaching program, spoke with Penny Hoarder about the company’s hiring initiatives, what the role includes, and how to qualify for one.
Noom is continually recruiting and training additional virtual coaches, according to Michaelides, and the firm expects to hire hundreds, if not a thousand, by the end of the year. Because new positions are proportionally linked to the number of new app users, he was hesitant to disclose an exact number.
“We have a lot of coaches,” Michaelides said, emphasizing that the positions are a wonderful way to start a career in mental health.
According to Michaelides, the application page closes for a brief period of time. However, the company reopens it and accepts new applicants.
