What inspired you to pursue a career as a somatic coach and brainspotting practitioner?

Tanya Bashor: My inspiration comes from both my personal experiences and my work in workforce development with under-served populations. I’ve always felt this deep pull to help others, especially after seeing how much unresolved trauma can impact people’s lives. In my own journey, I realized, later than I’d like to admit, just how much the body holds onto emotional pain. Traditional talk therapy was helpful initially to validate my experiences, but it often wasn’t enough to create the deep, lasting healing I needed.

When I discovered somatic coaching and brainspotting, everything shifted. These methods were so transformative for me, and I saw how powerful and sustainable they were for healing. I knew I had to share them with others so they could find the same relief and freedom I did.

How did your experiences shape the creation of ImpartClarity LLC and your passion for trauma-informed healing?

Tanya Bashor: My journey to creating ImpartClarity LLC was shaped by my own experience of living in a verbally abusive and toxic marriage for 22 years. During that time, I left and returned multiple times, each time struggling with the impact it had on my self-esteem and the anxiety it caused my children. Through that experience, I saw firsthand how deeply trauma affects not just the mind but also the body, and how it can ripple through generations.

When I founded ImpartClarity, my goal was to create a safe, judgment-free space where people could share their stories, understand the effects of trauma on their lives and bodies, and access tools to help them heal. I believe healing is ultimately a self-driven process, but many people don’t know where to start. My passion is to empower others with the resources and knowledge they need to take those first steps, move forward with resilience, and know they are never alone on their journey.

Share the inspiration behind the ResilientSoul: Renew & Rise retreat and what participants can expect to gain from it.

Tanya Bashor: The Resilient Soul Retreat was inspired by my own healing journey and my passion for creating spaces where women can truly reconnect with themselves and others in a similar situation. Early on in my training to become a Certified Narcissistic Trauma Informed Coach I learned how powerful it was to be in community with others who share similar experiences. I learned that healing doesn’t have to be a solitary process and that there’s so much strength that comes from connecting with others who understand your journey so I decided to create a retreat where women could experience community while processing their trauma.

At the Resilient Soul retreat, women get the chance to do some deep somatic healing in a really supportive and safe group setting. One of my favorite parts is working with my friend and business partner, Angela Failor. She’s an amazing Eden Energy Medicine practitioner who teaches powerful techniques to help balance the body’s energy and promote both emotional and physical well-being. Everyone leaves with practical tools for recovery, a better understanding of how trauma affects their body, and, most importantly, a sense of community and hope. The connections people make remind them they’re not alone in their journey.

I’ve also started another retreat called Codependency No More: Breaking Free, Building You with my friend and fellow coach, Jess Parante. It’s all about helping women break free from patterns of codependency and reconnect with themselves. We’ve created a safe space where women can explore the roots of their codependency, see how it impacts their relationships and self-worth, and learn healthier ways to connect with others. It’s been incredible to see the transformations that come from these retreats.

How do your retreats differ from traditional therapeutic approaches?

Tanya Bashor: My retreats are really different from traditional therapy because they’re all about a holistic, hands-on experience that combines somatic healing, energy work, and the magic of being in a supportive community. Instead of just talking through the same story over and over, (which can lead to feeling “stuck”,) we focus on the mind-body connection, helping people understand and release the trauma that’s stored in their bodies.

What really makes it special is the group setting where women can get a sense of community. There’s something so powerful about being with others who’ve been through similar things as it reminds you that you’re not alone. People leave with practical tools for healing, but also those deep emotional breakthroughs that only happen in a safe, judgment-free space. It’s really about education, self-discovery, and community, all wrapped into one transformative experience.

What role does brainspotting play in the healing process, and how do you integrate it into your work?

Tanya Bashor: Brainspotting has been such a game-changer. It works by tapping into the brain’s deeper emotional centers where trauma is stored. Unlike traditional talk therapy, which focuses on talking things through, brainspotting uses eye position to help people process unresolved trauma at a subconscious level. It’s amazing how it helps release emotional pain and even rewires how the brain responds to those past experiences.

In my one-on-one coaching, I use it to help women move past triggering memories and really understand that what happened wasn’t their fault but rather it happenedto them. That shift is so powerful. It not only helps them heal but also rebuilds their self-worth so they can move forward with confidence, clarity and peace.

In Powerful Synergy, you share insights about balancing motherhood and business. What strategies have been most effective for you?

Tanya Bashor: Balancing motherhood and business has been such a learning curve, but for me, it comes down to setting boundaries, staying flexible, and focusing on what really matters. I’ve had to let go of the pressure to do everything myself and lean on the amazing support of friends and peers. Self-care is a must, whether it’s getting outside in nature or just taking time to recharge; because when I take care of myself, I’m so much better for my family and my business. (Just ask my husband!)  It’s not about being perfect; that doesn’t help anyone. It’s about finding balance, and I try to model that for my kids every day so they can carry it forward in their own personal and professional lives.

How has being a mother influenced your work in helping others heal and build resilience?

Tanya Bashor: Honestly, being a mom has shaped so much of what I do. While I was working through my own healing, I wanted to show my kids that it’s possible to come out stronger on the other side of trauma. After my divorce, I made it a point to model healthy habits and talk about how important it is to break those generational patterns by doing the inner work ourselves. That’s what drives me. I know that when we heal, it doesn’t just change our lives, it has a ripple effect and changes things for our kids and even future generations.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your work in helping others on their healing journeys?

Tanya Bashor: Looking back, I can see how lost I was in my own codependent patterns, I was always trying to fix others and lost sight of myself in the process. It was a difficult journey, but when I started the work to truly heal, having someone by my side who believed in me, even when I couldn’t believe in myself, made all the difference.

Now, the most rewarding part of my work is being able to offer that same support to others. I get to hold space for women who feel stuck and help them rediscover their strength and worth. Watching them grow, heal, and reclaim their power is an incredible experience. It’s a reminder that even in the hardest moments, transformation is possible, and we don’t have to face it alone.
