Thank you so much for joining us. Please introduce yourself to our readers.

Eric Ritter: Hello, I am Eric Ritter, the owner and President of Digital Neighbor, and also the SEO Sommelier.

As an entrepreneur, how do you incorporate mindfulness or spiritual practices into your leadership style? Can you share an instance where this approach significantly impacted your business decisions or team dynamics?

Eric Ritter: One goal I set for myself was to find more time to meditate. So now I end every morning workout with a 10-minute meditation and mindfulness session. I use that time to set my intentions for the day, which helps me get focused and clear before I begin work.

As a leader and an entrepreneur, I’ve found that having this balance is very important. It gives me healthy physical activity at the gym, and it also gets my mind in a good spot. Since I’ve been doing it, I’ve noticed that I feel more intellectually agile in shifting from one everyday demand to the next.

And on the odd occasion in which I needed to have a difficult conversation, I felt more centered and articulate. I think others have noticed too, because I sense more respect coming from my clients and staff, which is paramount in being an effective leader.

Balancing a busy professional life with healthy eating can be challenging. What strategies or habits have you adopted to ensure your diet supports both your body and spirit, especially under the pressures of entrepreneurship?

Eric Ritter: Meal prep, meal prep, and more meal prep! I prepare lots of nutrient-rich whole-food snacks for myself throughout the day, such as nuts, fruit, and greek yogurt.

I set alarms to remind myself to eat my morning and afternoon snacks. I’ve discovered that multiple smaller meals work better for me than three big meals. This strategy has helped to keep me balanced and satiated through the busy work day.

How have you transformed your workspace to enhance focus, creativity, and inner peace? Do you have any specific routines or environmental changes that have made a significant difference in your workday wellness?

Eric Ritter: I schedule a 15-minute email sprint on the treadmill twice per day, checking emails while I am walking. This habit helps me step away from my desk and do some activity for a few minutes. At the end of the day, I do my best to clean everything off my desk and leave my work area neat and prepared for a fresh start the next day.

Quality rest is crucial for peak performance. What sleep hygiene rituals do you follow to maintain high energy and clear thinking? How have these practices contributed to your success and well-being as a business owner?

Eric Ritter: Listening to sleep meditation is a fool-proof way to help me fall asleep. I’ve never even gotten to the end of a sleep meditation track before, so I know it works! I also set a boundary to remove any electronics from my bedside.

My goal is to build a habit that allows my body to associate the bed with sleep and rest, not with doing anything else like working. I also make sure to go to bed at the same time every night to maintain that routine.
